scientific and technical society based in Frankfurt am Main, Germany.
It has more than 5,500 private and institutional members, among them
scientists, engineers, companies, organisations and institutes.

The 8th European Federation of Chemical Engineering will for the first time be held together with the European Congress of Industrial Biotechnology. About 850 lectures in 19 parallel sessions will showcase the whole range of chemical engineering and biotechnology, from “classical” operations, safety issues and computational skills to the development of a new resource base, industrial biotechnology and nano scale applications.

This year's special focus on "Signal Transduction, Drug Discovery and Design" will be co-organized by the "Fachsektion Chemical Biology" (Jörg Rademann, Berlin) and the GBM study group "Receptors and Signal Transduction" (Karlheinz Friedrich). The special focus symposium includes a number of invited lectures on structure-function relationships as well as on drug discovery and development, substituted by short talks.
